Each painting is an original oil, built live from direct observation. I’m responding not only to what is in front of me, but to the composition, color, light, movement, and relationships that give the moment its feeling.
My approach has been shaped by twenty years of painting weddings, a BFA and MFA in painting, time spent working as a copyist at the Prado, and thousands of hours behind the easel.
If my paintings feel different from other wedding paintings you’ve seen, it may be because they are rooted in the practice of painting itself. My aim is not simply to reproduce how the wedding looked, but to translate what it felt like to be there.
