A Wedding Painting that feels like you

A live painting transforms your wedding day into a poetic expression, capturing the feeling, movement, and emotion in a way that no photograph ever could.

Every painting is crafted with the care, attention, and artistic intuition that turns a fleeting moment into a lifelong treasure.

  • The portrait was stunning and every time I look at it, I smile and reflect back to a milestone and event that we cherish. I can’t recommend her enough-worth every penny!

    — COURTNEY, MOM OF THE BRIDE
  • Her painting is the most valued tangible item we left our wedding with. Money well spent and the painting will be in our family forever. Everyone should make this part of your special day!!!

    — ROB & AMY
  • There are no words to express the brilliance, talent, and passion I would use to describe Laura’s ability to capture a moment. Our wedding painting is my favorite addition from our big day besides my husband.

    — NORAH, BRIDE
  • My advice to a couple deciding on booking Laura as their event painter would be YES! YES! YES!!! Her pricing was well worth having her there and the fact is you get an original work of art.

    — KELLY, MOM OF THE BRIDE
  • My daughter and her husband will not need to watch a video or open a photo album to remember their special day… just glance at the wall and see the memories explode.

    — VICKY, MOM OF THE BRIDE
  • One of the best people I worked with while planning my wedding!! She is amazing and her work is out of this world. Our painting is way above our expectations. Everytime I look at it I get a huge smile on my face!

    — SUZIE, BRIDE

Painting of a wedding scene by the water, featuring a bride and groom kissing under an archway, surrounded by guests seated in rows. The background shows a blue sky with birds and a body of water. The style is impressionistic with soft colors and brushstrokes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Generally 2 hours, so I can setup my equipment, begin painting the setting and get a feel for what your composition might be.

  • A $500 deposit and signed contract secures your date. The balance can be divided into a payment plan of your choosing so long as the painting is paid for before it ships.

  • I love working in oils! Oil paints have richer pigment and blend more beautifully when working wet into wet. This gives you vivid colors and a life-like appearance that won’t fade over time.

  • I paint the guests who were naturally part of the scene. We can strategically place me so I’m more likely to capture significant loved ones or sometimes parents and bridal party will gather around the dance floor for the first dance. My work is best when it captures the overall vibe and how things flowed/ looked naturally rather than altering the scene to focus on specific people.

  • My pricing reflects the time, energy and craftsmanship involved in each piece and is not negotiable.

  • You can make a few minor revisions and I always want you to be 100% happy! Likeness is subjective and I don’t allow tweaking of portraits or other revisions that can damage the integrity of the painting.

  • After your wedding, I carefully transport your wet oil painting back to my studio for finishing touches. Most paintings are dry and ready to ship in 3-8 weeks.

  • About 5’ x 5’. I bring my own equipment and don’t need extra tables, chairs or lighting. So you don’t have to worry about another to-do on an already busy day. The only thing to consider is that I need access to an electrical outlet for my light.

  • On-site painting time can range from 5-8 hours

  • Not at all! It’s part of the experience. I’m comfortable painting in public and offering a behind-the-scenes peek into what I do. Plus, as a former college drawing professor, I’m happy to answer any Qs your guests might have about painting, art history, and the techniques I use.

  • My two favorite painters are Fairfield Porter (20th century American) and Vuillard (French Impressionist) but I’ve also been heavily influenced but Spanish Painters as well.

  • Short answer: You are the only one who can decide this, and you should choose an artists whose work you resonate with!

Being one of the pioneers of live wedding painting, I started painting at weddings in 2006 by chance, before it was a “thing” and created my own approach.

I’ve seen this become a sought-after service and start trending in recent years. I’ve seen it become less about the art and more about the instagram reveal.

But I believe you deserve more than short-lived entertainment or a cheesy painting. I want to make you something that captures time, place, and feels like actual art.

  • After years of doing this, I’ve found that collaging elements in that were not there makes the paintings feel unnatural and disrupts the flow. My goal is to make something that is more ethereal and less focused on individuals so I no longer offer this.
