A Wedding Painting that feels like you
A live painting transforms your wedding day into a poetic expression, capturing the feeling, movement, and emotion in a way that no photograph ever could.
Every painting is crafted with the care, attention, and artistic intuition that turns a fleeting moment into a lifelong treasure.
WEDDING PAINTING OPTIONS
All paintings are done in my signature abstract impressionistic style and come in 3 sizes. Larger paintings= more complex scenes/ wider panoramas and more lifelike figures. Each painting includes a full session of live painting along with studio time to make it sing.
Your painting is a one of a kind composition with maximum artistry where the focus is on emotional and visual impact, not just capturing details.
Free shipping and a jpeg to make prints and cards are always included.
Inter-Island Travel (if you are getting married on Oahu, Kauai, or Maui) is an additional fee of $550
Southern California Travel is also $550.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Generally 2 hours, so I can setup my equipment, begin painting the setting and get a feel for what your composition might be.
-
A $500 deposit and signed contract secures your date. The balance can be divided into a payment plan of your choosing so long as the painting is paid for before it ships.

I love working in oils! Oil paints have richer pigment and blend more beautifully when working wet into wet. This gives you vivid colors and a life-like appearance that won’t fade over time.
-
I paint the guests who were naturally part of the scene. We can strategically place me so I’m more likely to capture significant loved ones or sometimes parents and bridal party will gather around the dance floor for the first dance. My work is best when it captures the overall vibe and how things flowed/ looked naturally rather than altering the scene to focus on specific people.
-
My pricing reflects the time, energy and craftsmanship involved in each piece and is not negotiable.
-
You can make a few minor revisions and I always want you to be 100% happy! Likeness is subjective and I don’t allow tweaking of portraits or other revisions that can damage the integrity of the painting.
-
After your wedding, I carefully transport your wet oil painting back to my studio for finishing touches. Most paintings are dry and ready to ship in 3-8 weeks.
-
About 5’ x 5’. I bring my own equipment and don’t need extra tables, chairs or lighting. So you don’t have to worry about another to-do on an already busy day. The only thing to consider is that I need access to an electrical outlet for my light.
-
On-site painting time can range from 5-8 hours

Not at all! It’s part of the experience. I’m comfortable painting in public and offering a behind-the-scenes peek into what I do. Plus, as a former college drawing professor, I’m happy to answer any Qs your guests might have about painting, art history, and the techniques I use.
-
My two favorite painters are Fairfield Porter (20th century American) and Vuillard (French Impressionist) but I’ve also been heavily influenced but Spanish Painters as well.

Short answer: You are the only one who can decide this, and you should choose an artists whose work you resonate with!
Being one of the pioneers of live wedding painting, I started painting at weddings in 2006 by chance, before it was a “thing” and created my own approach.
I’ve seen this become a sought-after service and start trending in recent years. I’ve seen it become less about the art and more about the instagram reveal.
But I believe you deserve more than short-lived entertainment or a cheesy painting. I want to make you something that captures time, place, and feels like actual art.

After years of doing this, I’ve found that collaging elements in that were not there makes the paintings feel unnatural and disrupts the flow. My goal is to make something that is more ethereal and less focused on individuals so I no longer offer this.
