What’s Included
All pricing is flat rate with taxes and expenses included. Inter-island pricing covers all travel.
Every package includes the live painting experience at your wedding and an original oil painting that's yours forever.
What's required to book
$500 and a signed proposal secures your date. The balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding. Payment plans also available.

Pochade
16 × 20”
An original oil painting on a linen panel, painted entirely at your wedding and yours that same night. Your choice of ceremony or first dance. Looser and more abstract than my Capture the Moment offerings, think of it as a painting of your wedding, not a portrait of you. Felt color, expressive brushwork, and a quality that's a little bit whimsical. At the end of the night, your painting goes home with you in a protective art box.

Capture the Moment

These paintings capture the essence of the moment. The couple fills the frame, with the setting and guests suggested loosely in the background rather than painted with individual detail. After your wedding, I bring the painting back to my studio to refine the colors, composition, and your portraits.

Refined

These paintings have a refined look AND include portraiture in your loved ones. The more panoramic canvas allows a wider, more complex composition, zoomed out a little while still capturing the feeling of your moment. Some guests will appear naturally in the scene, while the people you choose to include are incorporated in a way that flows with the composition and feels natural.

Signature

This was my only offering for years, and for good reason, it brings out my best work. The larger canvas gives me room to develop the composition fully, paint more lifelike figures, and bring a real feeling of tangibility to the scenery. These are the paintings where I get to be the most creative, and they tend to be the pieces that stop people in their tracks.

About two hours early. I set up my equipment, start painting the setting, and get a feel for the light and composition before your ceremony

About 5x5 feet. I bring everything I need — no extra tables, chairs, or lighting required. The only thing I ask for is access to an electrical outlet.

It comes down to how much studio time the painting gets. The pochade painting is done entirely at your wedding and goes home with you that night. Capture the Moment starts live and comes back to the studio for refinement of the couple's portraits, colors, and composition. Refined is a piece that artfully incorporates loved ones with extensive studio refinement. Signature gets the most sustained studio attention, with months of development on a large canvas where every detail is considered.

Pochade comes from the French word "pocher," meaning to sketch. It's a tradition that goes back centuries, when painters would work from portable boxes to capture scenes from life before cameras existed. My pochade paintings bring that tradition to your wedding. A 16 x 20" oil painting on linen, painted primarily from direct observation. You choose the ceremony or the first dance, and the finished painting goes home with you that night.

I love working in oils! Oil paints have richer pigment and blend more beautifully when working wet into wet. This gives you vivid colors and a life-like appearance that won’t fade over time.

I can do this for the Refined and Signature Packages only as it takes a lot of time to do it artfully. My flowy style is aided by painting the scene as it naturally unfolds. If you are going with a Pochade or Capture the Moment, we can talk about strategic placement so I’m more likely to capture your significant loved ones. My work is at its best when it reflects the real flow of your day and has a natural/ candid feel.
